The Makerista

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I wanted to share one of my favorite bloggers…Gwen from The Makerista. She has been a HUGE inspiration in my blogging journey.  Not only is she a super talented lady but I can also attest that she is just as kind and nice as she is talented!

Gwen and I went to college together for a year.  We both attended school in Iowa and both were studying vocal music.  We lived just a few doors down from each other in the dorms.  We had a ton of fun together and became close friends.  Unfortunately, I decided to transfer schools as this school wasn’t fulfilling my needs at that time in my life.  

Gwen is a stay at home mom with an extremely successful blog.  This year she was selected as the editorial’s pick for the BHG Blogger Awards: Best Decorating Blogger.  She seriously has the best style and her home and projects are stunning!  Yesterday she just posted an amazing video she made with Lowes on redoing a bathroom: Blogger vs. Builder Grade Bath.  You can see the video here.

I asked Gwen if I could feature one of her older projects and we picked her Stenciled Wall and Template Tutorial.  This project was one she collaborated with another blogger for the competition Creating with the Stars.  As everyone knows I love stenciling but I do like how her’s looked hand painted!
