We are coming up on the end of the first week of the new year and I got kind of excited when I wrote 2016 for the first time the other day. I don’t know why but every year it’s always fun to write the new year on items! A new year means a new start, right?! Today is going to be a bit of a photo overload. I wanted to share a little bit of my Christmas break with you all and photos from our trip to Iowa. Every year my husband and I switch off holidays with our families. This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with his family in California and Christmas with my family in Iowa. Next year we will doing it the other way.
Here are a few photos from our Christmas with my family in Iowa…..
We had an amazing Christmas with family and facetimed with our family in California and it was perfect. Santa was good to us and it was so fun to watch Lucy with her cousins. They just played and played and played. Lucy really looks up to her cousins and is pretty much attached at the hip with my niece Zoe.
A few days after Christmas we headed back home so my husband could get back to work and I could prepare for New Years Eve. This year for NYE we had a progressive dinner with some of our neighbors. I can’t tell you how amazing our neighborhood is and how our neighbors have become our best friends. Almost every weekend we are hanging with our neighbors and lucky enough to stay close to home. 5 families joined in on this progressive dinner and it was a blast. We started off with appetizers and drinks at the Miller’s, then headed to the Fischler’s for soup, walked next door to our house for pasta, walked across the street to the Jordan’s for the main course and ended the evening at the Gerth’s home for some delicious dessert and bubbly!
Here are a few photos of the tablescape I made for our celebration:
I hope everyone had a great start to the new year and I hope the new year treats everyone well. I’m thinking that 2016 is going to be a great year for us. 2015 was wonderful in many ways but we also had a few bumps in the road. Looking forward to a healthier, happier and growing new year!
