Baby Bundle Series: For Big Sister (or brother) + Coupon
It’s Day 3 of my Baby Bundle series. If you are just joining me I have compiled a list of must-haves for second-time Moms. Life with two is going to be a lot different than life with one. I haven’t fully learned how that is going to play out here at our house but I’m anxious to find out! Here were the first two days of the series:
Day 1 – Nursing | Day 2 – Carriers/Sleepers
Today is all about the big sibling! In our case, our little girl will be a big sister to her new little sister. A girl household over here. My husband is getting very used to tutus, dolls and sparkly things! There is something special though about a Daddy and his little girl(s).
Big Sister Outfit
You want your child to feel proud that they are being promoted to a big sister or brother! I think this sister’s t-shirt set is absolutely adorable. These would be great for a photo session too! There are so many cute big sibling shirts out there and I always feel extra proud when my daughter wears hers. It makes this whole having a baby thing even more real!
Big Sibling Books
There is a website called uncommongoods that has so many fun and interesting gifts and decor for your home! I especially love their big sibling books! They have a book called “what big sister JOSEPHINE does best” and “what big brother NOAH does best” where you can personalize and add your child’s name into the book. There is something about having the child’s name in the book which makes it extra special to that child. My daughter loves to read the book and learn about her special duties as a big sister. We also love the Personalized We Go Together Book. You can personalize your child’s name into the book and the new baby’s name in as well. You can personalize their hair color, gender, skin tone, etc. It’s adorable because it compares how the siblings go together like peanut butter and jelly and other items like that! It really shows our daughter the special bond that sisters have!
Fun Food Plates
Another fun item that uncommongoods sells are these fun and creative food plates. I plan to nurse and so I know I will be busy with baby feedings. Also when baby sister gets a little older I’m going to have to feed her food and these plates are a fun way for my older daughter to eat and keep herself busy. I know there is going to be some jealousy with Mommy spending a little more time with baby sister because of feedings but these are a great distraction for Lucy. I mean who doesn’t want to play with their food?!
The first plate is called Ms. Food Face Plate and Lucy can create some beautiful looks for her new friend. It’s a great way for your child to use their creativity while also eating their food. The second plate is called Create-A-Plate and it has interchangeable art for your child to use their imagination. There is also a way for you to create your own if you use a special app. You can also get the plate sectioned out or flat. Lucy’s imagination is constantly growing and I love watching her little brain working hard!
Ok to Wake! Alarm Clock
We love this little clock! We actually purchased it for Lucy once we moved her out of her crib (which is now in baby sister’s room) and into a big girl bed. There have been a lot of changes with the future arrival of the new baby so we want her to feel special and we make a big deal out of every life change. Moving into a big girl bed was one of those. This clock made her feel extra special that she is becoming a big girl and has her own alarm clock for her room. It’s also a great tool for parents in making sure that your child doesn’t leave their room before it’s time to wake up. It allows you to set a time that you don’t want your child to “wake up” until and when it hits that time the clock glows. Sometimes Lucy wakes up before the clock turns green but knows she’s supposed to stay in bed until it turns green. Then we hear her from our bedroom yelling…”It’s green!! Can I come out now?!” I will say it’s not magic and there are mornings she wants out before it turns green but it’s a great tool in aiding in the bed transition. Plus it has an interchangeable face so you can make it girly if you have a little girl!
Simply Earth Essential Oil Box
In the last year or so I’ve really wanted to get rid of all of the harsh chemicals in our house and I’ve slowly been getting rid of cleaners like that in our home. Another great way to bring in some all natural products into your home is by using essential oils. I swear they are little bottles of magic. Lucy has had a hard time adjusting to the big girl bed some evenings and so we put a little Lavender essential oil on her feet and it really helps calm her down. Long story short, the Binky Fairy came to our house and took her binkies to all the fairies to use in their land. In return, she would get a present when she got rid of them all. The story suggests getting rid of them all at once but we did them one at a time. I went to the dollar bins at Target and got a lot of small toys. Once all of her binkies were gone she also got some Fairy Dust (Lavender Essential Oil) from the fairies to help keep her calm at night. It’s a great book and I love the idea of how it works. You can buy the book here.
Now let’s talk about these amazing little essential oil boxes. October’s box is centered all around the kiddos. Each box contains 5 essential oils, recipe ingredients, recipe containers, and 5-7 recipes. This box is super fun because you make play dough, bubble bath, water beads, cloud dough, and bubbles. You can make the recipes with your kiddos and then have fun playing with them afterward. Each month has a theme and it’s always exciting to see what is going to come in the box. (They are not kid-themed every month.) You can learn more about the recipe box’s here. Watch the video below for more details regarding the fun kid October box!
What I love most about this company is that they were founded by two brothers and their wives as a way to help make it easy and affordable to make your home natural. They also love to give back and one way they do so is by giving 13% of their profits to help end human trafficking. They are also giving away a free Diffuser to my readers when you subscribe to their Essential Oil Recipe Boxes. Just use this code when checking out –> REFASHFREEDIF

mifold: Grab-and-Go Car Booster Seat
Ever since this came out I was very intrigued by it and wondered if it was too good to be true! Now Lucy isn’t old enough to use it yet because she needs to be 4 but what a genius idea and I can’t wait to try it out! I’ll let the video do the talking:
Baby Doll Carrier
How stinking cute is this doll carrier? I have a feeling I will be doing a lot of babywearing with our new little one as I’ll be on the go with my toddler. She already loves to play dolls and will absolutely love playing Mommy alongside me!
Transitioning an older child for a younger sibling is a scary thing. I am hoping that by making her feel just as special as her new baby sister that that will help everything going smoother. Now I don’t know how it will all pan out but I think this is a great start! What things did you do to help the older sibling prepare for a younger one?
