I had a very specific vision for my daughter’s room when I was designing it. ย I wanted it to be girly with touches of silver and soft pink. ย When Lucy was born we lived in a small apartment in California and we weren’t allowed to paint the walls so I really wanted to accent the room with silver and light pink. ย Lucy’s bedroom was also the guest room. ๐ ย Here a few pictures of Lucy’s room in California. ย She never slept in this room as she was in a bassinet in our room until we moved when she was 2 months old. ย Haha ย (Excuse the iPhone photos)
I’ve had to make some adjustments to the room since we have moved because the space is different and we don’t have to have a bed in there. ย I love having a separate guest room now!
One of my favorite things in Lucy’s room is her wall of books! ย I’m so glad that I made these Ikea spice rack book shelves because Lucy loves being able to grab books and see the covers. ย This project was super simple and really didn’t take me any time to do! ย I was pregnant at the time and being a first time pregnant mama I was worried about everything so my mom did this project for me! Haha
I purchased 6 of these spice racks from Ikea and I bought a soft pink and white can of spray paint. ย My mom took them outside onto my porch and spray painted them. ย That was all we had to do! ย The hardest part of the project was hanging them up on the wall straight!
I love the way it looks and I love how it exposes the books for Lucy to see. ย It’s such a fun element in Lucy’s room and I’m anxious to share more pictures of her room once I completely finish it. ย It’s a room made for a princess! ๐
What are your favorite looks for a little girl’s room!?
