Ikea Spice Rack Book Shelves
I had a very specific vision for my daughter’s room when I was designing it. I wanted it to be girly with touches of silver and soft pink. When Lucy was born we lived in a small apartment in California and we weren’t allowed to paint the walls so I really wanted to accent the room with silver and light pink. Lucy’s bedroom was also the guest room. 🙂 Here a few pictures of Lucy’s room in California. She never slept in this room as she was in a bassinet in our room until we moved when she was 2 months old. Haha (Excuse the iPhone photos)
I’ve had to make some adjustments to the room since we have moved because the space is different and we don’t have to have a bed in there. I love having a separate guest room now!
One of my favorite things in Lucy’s room is her wall of books! I’m so glad that I made these Ikea spice rack book shelves because Lucy loves being able to grab books and see the covers. This project was super simple and really didn’t take me any time to do! I was pregnant at the time and being a first time pregnant mama I was worried about everything so my mom did this project for me! Haha
I purchased 6 of these spice racks from Ikea and I bought a soft pink and white can of spray paint. My mom took them outside onto my porch and spray painted them. That was all we had to do! The hardest part of the project was hanging them up on the wall straight!
I love the way it looks and I love how it exposes the books for Lucy to see. It’s such a fun element in Lucy’s room and I’m anxious to share more pictures of her room once I completely finish it. It’s a room made for a princess! 🙂
What are your favorite looks for a little girl’s room!?
