Friday Favorite: Flower Boxes
This week’s Friday Favorite: Flower Boxes is all about DIY flower boxes. Ever since I saw this post from Dwelling in Happiness I have been obsessed with wanting to make a flower box. I have a couple spots in my home that I think would fill the area perfectly. You can find similar flower boxes online and in stores for well over $100 but you can make one for WAY cheaper!
Today I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite DIY flower boxes. I am hoping to recreate one of these or make my own similar version very soon! Now that the warmer weather is here I am hoping to get outside more and work on some projects!
I love how Amanda used pegboard to arrange her flowers. The flowers are of course fake but I’ve found I’m not the best at keeping plants or flowers alive a long time so this may be perfect for me!
I really like how Laura showed the L brackets and enhanced the rustic look of the piece. I also really like how the distressed wood isn’t perfect and with that the lines and cuts don’t have to be perfect either!
Kelly chose such beautiful distressed wood for her flower box centerpiece. I think it’s great that she used gorilla glue, which makes it so much more simpler to assemble. I may have to consider that when making mine!
I love the whole mason jar trend going on right now. I like how they are slightly hidden and make for easy clean up.
Which one is your favorite?
I’m having a hard time choosing as I like specific things about each one. Should I try and find some old wood or distress some new wood and make it look old? Or should I make it look new with fresh wood and give it a clean look? Keep an eye out for a post in the next few weeks for my version or combination of the flower boxes! Have a great weekend and get outside and enjoy the weather!
