One Room Challenge Lucy’s Room – Week 1

One Room Challenge Lucy's Room Week 1 - www.ruthietabone.comI can’t believe it’s time for the One Room Challenge again!  If you are new here the One Room Challenge happens twice a year, once in the Fall and once in the Spring.  The goal is to transform a room in 6 weeks time.  I have participated in 3 other transformations and you can see the final reveals here:

This round I’m going to transform our 3-year-old daughter’s room into a big girl room!  Recently Lucy became a big sister so most of her baby items were moved into Gabi’s room.  We moved her into a big girl bed and I’ve slowly been transitioning her room but have always been too busy or pregnant to really make it her own.  I created a beautiful room for her little sister and now I’m so excited to do the same for her! Here is how the room looked when we moved in:

Lucy was 11 months old when we moved in and we painted her room and I quickly made it into an adorable little nursery for her.  I was really happy with how it turned out on a small budget.

Here are a few pictures of how her room looked before her big girl bed joined the room!

I plan to hang some decorative items around the room and paint the woodwork white.  I have some beautiful fabric that I’m planning to use to make a cornice with an attached bed canopy for her daybed. Here is an example of what I am going for:
