One Room Challenge Bathroom FINAL Reveal - www.ruthietabone.com

Well, folks, I know this has been a long time coming but our tile is installed and I couldn’t be happier with how it looks.  If you had missed this Fall’s bathroom transformation you can see the weekly transformations below:

I also did my daughter’s nursery and you can see the progress below:

My original plan for this space was to transform this room and make the focal point this gorgeous Carrara Marble 2″ Hexagon Tiles by The Builder Depot.  To make a long story short, I became pregnant and had a high-risk pregnancy and was unable to do any heavy lifting or taxing projects.  With that being said, it was left to my husband to tile the bathroom alone.  He has been extremely busy at work and we just weren’t able to get it done ourselves.  We decided to hire out to get the job done.  Carrara Marble has to be dealt with very carefully so a professional was the best choice for us.  We had it all set up and our tiler backed out the day before he was suppose to come.  So we were back to square one and had to find someone else.  Since it was such short notice I couldn’t find anyone to come before the One Room Challenge was over.

Now it’s tiled and finished and absolutely beautiful.  I loved Gwen’s bathroom transformation and tips for a Builder Grade Bathroom Makeover.  She is the author and creator of The Makerista and I loved how she took the tile up the main wall in the bathroom.  She explains how making everything vertical will help your space feel larger.  Go big or go home!  I’m so glad that I followed her advice as I’m obsessed with how my bathroom turned out.  It’s so elegant and adds such a wow factor to my bathroom!  Here is a reminder of what the bathroom looked like before:

Now here’s a little side by side of the final transformation:

Thank you to The Builder Depot for providing the beautiful tile for our “new” bathroom!  I can’t recommend this gorgeous tile more for any project update!  Thank you also to Gwen from The Makerista for the inspiration for this project!  I hope everyone has a wonderful week and I’ll see you later this week!

  1. Wow its already the reveal for the one Room Challenge. I have done it twice, but missed this one. Your bathroom looks stunning and the tile is such a great design to it.

    1. It’s not the reveal time for the ORC. I did my final reveal in the Fall but didn’t have it fully finished so I’m doing another final reveal now! 🙂

  2. Beautiful transformation! I am also glad I wasn’t the only one who didn’t get our one room challenge finished. I remember yours, particularly painting the countertops because it’s something I really wanted to do.

  3. Hey there! I’ve been reading your blog for a long time now and finally got the courage to go ahead and give you a shout out from Humble Texas! Just wanted to tell you keep up the good job!

  4. Can you tell me what grout color you used? It pairs perfectly with the Venato! I wanted to use the 2″ hex in my bathroom as well.

    1. I don’t know the exact name because our contractor who installed it bought it. I believe we had a choice of a lighter gray and a darker gray and we chose the darker gray.

  5. Lovely makeover! I’m about to start a bathroom redo of our (small) main bathroom. Getting rid of the tub for a walk-in shower w/bench seat. Love the hex tiles but nervous about using marble. Would porcelain be sturdier?
