It is officially summer, even though I look out the window and it’s raining here in Minnesota. I’m looking forward to spending more time outside with my family and enjoying the nice weather. Well…when it decides to pop it’s head out here in the Midwest.
We love to entertain and spend time outside on our deck. My husband loves to BBQ. We have been working on a deck extension this past month so now entertaining is even more on our brains!
We have two little girls and we love for them to feel comfortable and have fun when we have guests at our house. A few years ago I got my hands on an old Little Tikes picnic table and I gave it a makeover.
I thought I’d share my two makeovers as well as some other adorable children’s picnic table makeovers with you today!

I love that this DIY picnic table has three sides! Whenever we have ours out and multiple children around I swear all the kids wants to sit at it! This is the perfect solution! The look of the white base with the grey stained seats and top is adorable! These plans are from Ana White's plans which are right below! If you haven't heard of Ana White then you need to head on over to her website. She has hundreds of free plans available on her website for all different projects. She is truly amazing! This is the second time I've redone this old beat up Little Tikes picnic table. This one is very bright and fun. It wasn't my plan but it ended up that I had the Flintstones in mind when creating this design! Ha! This one is so simple and quick! Add an outdoor tablecloth to the top of an old picnic table and you have a nice decorative and easily cleanable table for your kiddos! Above I shared my most recent makeover of the Little Tikes table. But here is the original! Who knew you could make an adorable table out of pallets. I'm constantly amazed and what can be done with pallets! Plus this one is just too cute! I'm a sucker for a geometric design and this one does not disappoint! I love the detail and style added to this little picnic table. This one is absolutely adorable and would look great at a beach or lake house. I'm tempted to make one for my parents cabin! Another great Ana White creation! I made over this adorable little picnic table for a friend this past week. Check below for a quick tutorial!Children's Picnic Table DIYs
It needed a little TLC so I said I’d help her out with the makeover. I started out by giving the table a good sand with my Ryobi Orbital Sander.
The next step was to prime the picnic table. This wood was old so I knew that it was going to soak up the paint. And that it did!
The next obvious step was to paint it with my HomeRight Finish Max Super. This is one of my go-to tools for any paint project!
I loaded up my sprayer and got to painting! It was completely painted in 5-10 minutes! The HomeRight Finish Max Super is so great for projects like this because it really helps to get into all the nooks and crannies of the table.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are all having a fabulous summer. I would love for you to stick around join my newsletter.
We have a big deck overhaul project going on right now. I can’t wait to share it with you all next month! So stay tuned!
