One Room Challenge Week 4 – Runner Ups
Hey everyone! It’s week 4 of the One Room Challenge. For the first time in One Room Challenge history they are adding on another week! Unfortunately for all of the environmental disasters that have happened in the past couple months it has delayed shipments and has been hard for everyone to keep up. With that being said I was at a little bit of a loss of what to write about this week. I had all of my weeks planned out but decided to push everything back a week due to the final reveal being moved. If you have missed the three previous weeks don’t worry you can catch up here:

I decided to share with you some of my runners up items and other designs I had in mind for my living room. Whenever I start the design process I start scouring Pinterest looking for ideas from other talented bloggers and designers.
I have always wanted to add some metallic grasscloth wallpaper to my house. I thought about doing it in our living room for a little bit but the floor plan isn’t great for wallpaper. I’m now thinking of adding it to my dining room eventually? What do you think?
I also love the mix of tradition and modern elements in the above room. I definitely worked hard at achieving the correct balance of that in my living room design.
My original plan for the room was to do board and batten 3/4 high on the wall and down the hallway. I contacted Metrie about working with them and then realized the possibilities with their products. Board and batten was out the window and panel molding was in! I’m so glad I went with it because it gives it a much more elegant look to the room. Now I think I’m going to use one of their designs and put in wainscoting down the hallway….in a little while. ๐
I absolutely LOVED this lamp and wanted to incorporate it into my design. Unfortunately, where the lamp was to be placed I had already ordered acrylic nesting tables. I didn’t think the acrylic nesting tables and the acrylic lamp would work next to each other. It would like a little too acrylicy? That’s a word right?! Plus I’m obsessed with the Bambusa Antique Gold Leaf Tripod Floor Lamp from Lamps Plus that I went with! Absolutely gorgeous!
I searched and searched and searched for the perfect rug. Little did I know that my favorite rug for some time was the perfect choice. I was very nervous that the Loughlam Pink Area Rug was the right choice for my living room. I was worried that it was going to be too loud and bold. Turns out it’s perfectly loud and bold for this space. Above are a few of the other rugs that I considered during my decision process. The first rug I had in my cart and was ready to purchase. My mom then took me back to the Loughlam rug and I just knew I needed to take a chance and get it! I loved the mix of blues in the rug but it wouldn’t have looked as amazing as the Loughlam rug does! I really wanted some pink in the rug and thought number two was a nice toned down version of the Loughlam rug. Not sure it even made it into my cart but it is pretty. Rug number three is a very beautiful rug but didn’t make it to my cart because it was a little over budget for me. Plus I don’t think I would have liked it as well in the space. Needless to say, I’m ecstatic with my choice of going with my gut!
Well, there you have it! Lots of ideas and designs go through my head when I’m designing a room. I change my mind a million times but I always love what I decide to go with! My mom and I are always texting back and forth with pictures and items when I’m working on a challenge. She loves to do this kind of thing as much as I do! She always has really great advice! Next week is week 5 and I’ll be sharing a more detailed look into the panel moulding and quarter round we are installing near our baseboards!

Acrylicy is totally a word! ๐ Love it! I like how you posted about the runner ups too… You are way more organized than me, having each week planned. I’m totally winging it!
