Now that Christmas and the Holidays are just around the corner it’s time to starting wrapping your presents. A few weeks ago I shared my final reveal of my guest room for the One Room Challenge and I turned my guest closet into a craft “room.” Within my craft closet I created a pretty great wrapping station. I’m having so much fun getting all of my presents wrapped for the Holiday season. What better feeling is there than to give a gift to a loved one?!
My craft closet has a few different areas of for crafting, sewing, organization and wrapping. Since we have moved into our new home and have grown in space I have always wanted an area to organize all of my craft/project materials. I wanted a desk inside of the closet for a place to do projects and to sew. I’m a sucker for finding free or almost free furniture. I arranged a time to go see a desk in a nearby town and they also had this organizer that they said I could have for free. We went to put the desk and organizer in my car and they both didn’t fit. I actually chose the organizer over the desk as I just pictured it being perfect to store wrapping paper.
My mind started turning on where I could store everything and how I would do it. I couldn’t wait to get the closet painted and finished to start organizing all of my things! I started with putting the wrapping paper into the large vertical section of the organizer. I taped some decorative ribbon on either side to keep the wrapping paper in place. The other areas I am using to store craft books, printer paper and ribbon.
I have learned while raising a toddler that when there is gift giving involved with toys that lots of them need batteries! For that reason it’s best to have batteries on hand or gift them along with the toy! Think back to when you were a kid and you got a new toy…you wanted to open it and play with it immediately. If you include the batteries then your child is able to enjoy their new present to the fullest. Why not stock up on your batteries so you can always enjoy any new toy received during the holidays!
I love being eco friendly and love to help the environment in any way that I can. Energizer® EcoAdvanced™ is the world’s first AA battery made with 4% recycled batteries. I love how long lasting they are and how they incorporate recycled materials! What better way to look out for the environment than to use recycled products! You can find these at most stores but I found mine at Target near the Christmas section! Perfect placement!
On the other side of my craft closet I took some old storage bins and gave them some new life with decorative paper. This area is a great place for storage of my craft materials. I store items like tissue paper, hot glue gun, yarn, fabric, wrapping boxes and gift bags. I labeled each drawer so that I could find what I’m looking for easily.
I love having all of my craft items organized in one place! It makes crafting and getting ready for the Holidays so much more fun! Now that I’ve shared how I’m preparing for the holiday season, tell me how Energizer® EcoAdvanced™ batteries will help your holiday prepping?!

Every December, I make sure to stock up on batteries to avoid the disappointment on my kids’ faces when their new toys can’t be used because we ran out of batteries. I love how you keep you gift wrapping supplies all organized, Ruthie.

I always forget batteries when giving gifts and of course my boys want to play with their toys the second they get the wrapping paper off. Your craft room is gorgeous!! I totally need to build a craft space like this in my room too!

Thanks Sydney! I never realized how important batteries were with gift giving until I had my daughter! 🙂
